Happy Labor Day weekend! This is a time we recognize and celebrate the social and economic achievements of American workers who have contributed to our country’s strength, prosperity, and well-being.
To cap off the summer this year, you can find a list of great Labor Day events around this city here. Don’t forget that Lake Shore Drive will be closed on Sunday morning for Bike The Drive from 5:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (for more information, see below). This is a great weekend to enjoy Chicago’s beaches and outdoor pools. While enjoying public beaches and parks, please make sure to follow community guidelines to keep areas clean and accessible to all. To make it even easier to get to the beach, this Sat. 9/4 through Mon. 9/6, bus shuttle service will be provided to some of Chicago’s beaches between 9 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. daily, including #78 Montrose. The CTA is also running a lowered fare rate on the CTA for Labor Day, which you can find out more about here.
The 46th Ward Office will be closed on Monday, September 6th for the Labor Day Holiday. We will reopen on Tuesday, September 7th at 9:00am.
