INNER LAKE SHORE DRIVE/MARINE DRIVE – Work began September 15th

Resurfacing work will include ADA sidewalk improvements, curb and gutter removal and replacement, concrete bus pads, pavement patching, milling and paving of existing asphalt pavement, and striping.

During construction, temporary “No Parking” signs will be periodically installed as required for each activity listed above. Parking will be restricted when crews are working. All work is scheduled to be completed by December 15, 2021, weather permitting.

Net Sync is on the final stages of their fiber and cable installation project with CPS on Clarendon from W Montrose to Walt Disney School. Crews are undergoing the restoration portion of this project which will include re-asphalting the street.  No parking signs will be posted ahead of additional work.

SIMONDS DRIVE – Work began September 15th
Simonds Drive between Montrose and Lawrence is getting a makeover!  In the coming weeks, the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) will be repaving and restructuring Simonds Drive and portions of Montrose and Lawrence in the Park District near Montrose Beach. Construction will be staged to minimize parking disruptions. Improvements will include:

Changed parking along Montrose Ave. to perpendicular parking between the bridge and Montrose Harbor. This will designate approximately 140 parking spaces in the area.
New marked crosswalks and curb extensions (where possible) at existing pedestrian desire lines such as near Montrose Harbor, at the Simonds/Lawrence intersection, and at the lakefront trail crossing along Simonds.
Missing or faded signs will be replaced.
3501 N. HALSTED DEMOLITION
Demolition of 3501 N. Halsted (former Little Jim’s, NE corner of Halsted/Cornelia) is expected to be completed by the end of September.
