Starting at 10 PM Dec. 31st until 4 AM January 1st Chicago Transit Authority will be offering free rides on all City trains and buses. Residents during that time will not need to tap their fair payment in order to board a CTA train or bus. If you know that you will be traveling by public transit outside of that time it is recommended that you purchase a fair card in advance. Information on fair cards and day passes can be found here.
